This series of work has been inspired primarily by a love of food!

“I love to paint lush, shiny, taut produce that indicate abundance and health. The images seem to suggest erotica due to their swollen shapes, to me the pieces are evocative of themes of reproduction and fertility” DT

All of the works are produced on canvas using oils. Each of the images is painted on a plain brightly coloured background on a large scale; strawberries 10 inches in diameter, aubergines four feet long and chillies six feet long.

Recently, Deborah has been using very muted shades for the background, like ivory and cream. These pieces are reminiscent of huge botanical prints.
